Abstract:

Performance analysis of two-stage solar PV systems with Shunt Active Harmonic Filter is presented in this paper.

Due to widespread non-linear loads, the distributed power system is affected by current harmonic problem in the recent industrial revolution. Harmonic mitigation, power factor correction, and load compensation are SAHF functions.

The SAHF system uses a three-leg Voltage Source Converter and PV module DC power. In this two-stage system, the first stage is an MPPT-implemented DC-DC step up converter. To maximize power, P&O algorithm is utilized.

PI controller and Hysteresis extract reference current. Current controller drives PWM-VSI. To reduce harmonics and reactive power, the PV-based SAHF uses diode rectifiers.
