Abstract:

The low voltage of many nonpolluting power sources necessitates ultra-high voltage gain dc-dc converters. This paper proposes a three-winding coupled inductor and voltage multiplier cell ultra-high voltage gain converter using interleave. Interleaving reduces filter components. The converter achieves high voltage gain without solid-state switch duty cycle. Increasing the secondary turn ratio of coupled inductors reduces semiconductor device voltage stress. The interleave structure also reduces peak-to-peak main input current variation and switching losses. The continuous conduction mode converter’s steady-state principles are given. Design equations are shown. Simulation and experimental results of a 120 W prototype evaluate the proposed converter.
