Abstract:

Design and inspection of an input switched innovative AC-DC step up converter with reduced THD and enhanced power factor are interpreted in this study. Conventional AC-DC converter circuits use a rectifier and numerous switches, but the rectifier’s non-linear behavior distorts the input current waveform.

Switch mode regulators on the output of a rectifier can improve power factor, but they introduce high frequencies to the input current, requiring a small-scale filter. Direct input switching replaces rectifier and many switches in the proposed circuit.

The proposed circuit is closed loop analyzed to enhance power factor (0.99) and remove THD. The addition of a feedback controller has increased efficiency by 99%. Using PSIM and Simulink, duty cycles and loads were varied to analyze results.
