Abstract:

This study examined the independent solar power system (ISPS) and MPPT and DC-to-AC full-bridge inverter (FBI) control technologies. This study applied the output voltage control strategy-based perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm and the optimal FBI control technique to the ISPS.

Adjustable frequency and duty cycle were part of the FBI control method developed for VFVDC. The proposed VFVDC control approach was compared against SPWM. FBI operated at 10 kHz with low voltage output.

When producing high voltage, the FBI operated at 1 kHz. This control increased FBI performance with low harmonics by reducing switching loss of 4 power MOSFETs. This study compared the proposed control strategy with SPWM control method in MATLAB to verify the system.

After simulations showed that the proposed control approach had a lower total harmonic distortion (THD) of 1.02% than SPWM’s 3.23%, the LPF volume was lowered. The ISPS was utilized for final measurement and verification. The proposed control approach had a low harmonic level, was stable, and could meet electrical needs.
