Abstract:

The power system is comprised of a significant number of nonlinear loads, which results in problems with the power quality. Sensitive components, such as electronic gadgets and medical equipment that are powered by the power source, are susceptible to power quality issues.

The sag in voltage, the swell in voltage, harmonics, and noise are all regarded to be significant problems with power quality. The most significant disturbance that the power system is experiencing is a drop in voltage.

While it is possible to employ on-load tap changers to correct for voltage dips, this method is not cost-effective. As an alternative to the traditional approach of correcting the voltage, the dynamic voltage restorer, also known as DVR, is presented.

The power devices in question are bespoke. Protecting sensitive loads that are substantially impacted by changes in system voltage is one of the primary applications of decentralized voltage regulators (DVR).
