Abstract:
Blind persons can use this web portal to browse the web. Since blind people cannot see the website, we utilize a clever text-to-speech system incorporated within the web portal to help them navigate. We use an audio menu to tell the blind user all navigation possibilities and then tell them to press the keyboard keys (a specially constructed keyboard is provided).
The system allows login and then gives step-by-step instructions on how to operate and which keys to press to enter a segment. Later, it tells them to enter subsections. Past that, the system reads headlines and plays songs utilizing the audio navigation menu.
The user can traverse the portal effortlessly. We added admin login to the web portal. Admins can add and amend news and other section material here.
