Abstract:

RMS models have traditionally characterized droop-controlled system responses. RMS models cannot forecast system stability and dynamic response when droop control is applied to doubly-fed induction generators, as shown in this paper.

Thus, this study presents a linearized small-signal model that overcomes RMS model restrictions. Simulation with MATLAB/Simulink validates the suggested model, allowing accurate analysis of the system’s stability and dynamic responsiveness.

This approach is intriguing for designing and adjusting grid-forming controllers for doubly-fed induction generators.
