Abstract:
This letter uses fuzzy logic to switch unusually. Eliminating logic-gate design simplifies the proposed method. Fuzzy logic pulse generators are also lookup tables. Controlled membership functions (MFs) and fuzzy logic controller rules allow direct pulse production from modulation index input. Using selective harmonic elimination pulsewidth modulation, the cascaded multi-level inverter with symmetric and asymmetric operations is tested. MFs use pre-calculated firing conditions for different modulation index values. Hardware verification supports the switching technique.
