Project Ideas

Abstract:

Technology advances rapidly, increasing competition, performance, maintenance, security, and privacy. Online apps need security and privacy. Other users needed passwords to view or share information. Thus, users utilize textual passwords to protect their passwords.

The attacker can undertake the shoulder surfing attack by observing the user type his password over his shoulder. Since then, several graphical password methods with different shoulder surfing resistance have been devised, each with merits and cons.

The proposed approach uses 16 characters to produce a safe password: 6 lowercase alphabets from a to f and 10 numerical from 0-9. System gives on-screen keyboard to choose letters and numbers for password. The user selects four spots from a 3×3 matrix.

This authentication mechanism requires users to register with basic information. Password entering with matrix selection is part of registration. After registration, users can visit the login module and authenticate their accounts by providing their email addresses.

After authenticating the email id, the user can enter the matrix password area and choose characters for each matrix position. User profiles are forwarded after authentication. User must validate account details if they forget their password. After account validation, system sends password reset email. That link resets passwords.
