Abstract:
A typed, scribbled, or printed image is converted into machine-encoded text via optical character recognition. This system extracts visual patterns and recognizes image text using Matlab’s optical character recognition.
System recognizes pattern and detects picture characters. Those characters will be produced. Photo or other picture can be scanned. We used image preprocessing to extract text solely. Another directory will hold image patterns. Database image patterns are compared to query image.
If image matches directory pattern, system will apply algorithm to recognize text and output it. User inputs image. Since images are more susceptible to noise and environmental interference, we must first filter out noise. Images are preprocessed. Remove unwanted items.
Bounding boxes surround extracted text. These texts are images. These visuals become characters. Systems retrieve characters from images using optical character recognition. Directory contains character and numeric graphics.
Bounding boxes separate extracted text images. Each enclosing box contains a character or number. Each character or integer is scaled to directory image. Compare extracted picture to character image characteristic. Characters shown after comparison. Then recognized characters are displayed in text.
