Abstract:
The Android-Based Visual Product Identification for the Blind project helps blind people identify products quickly and easily. This project uses a camera to scan product barcodes and display product descriptions. Blind people have trouble distinguishing packaged goods, so this feature is especially useful. Users take a picture of the product with their phone to use the system. The system processes the image, extracts the barcode ID, and reads the product description. This app helps blind and visually impaired people identify products. It requires only a barcode scanner and a camera-equipped phone, making it easy and affordable. This project is feasible because most mobile phones can scan and identify barcodes. Shopping malls, supermarkets, bookstores, and medical stores can use it.
