AI Mental Health Therapist Chatbot

Abstract:

The AI Mental Health Therapist Chatbot addresses the global mental health worker shortage and improves access to mental health interventions. Chatbots can engage users in behavioral health interventions and reach 70% of those without access. Rasa, a Python-based platform that uses Natural Language Processing (NLU) to understand user intents and respond appropriately, powers this chatbot system.

Introduction:

The World Health Organization acknowledges the global shortage of mental health professionals, which limits mental health care access. Additionally, mental health stigmas prevent people from seeking help. Chatbots can engage users in mental health support and reduce stigma. These chatbots can speak, write, and see.

Objectives:

The AI Mental Health Therapist Chatbot project aims to provide users with personalized mental health support and recommendations based on their emotions and communication patterns. The chatbot system suggests mental health-related videos based on user sentiments. This project uses technology to provide affordable and accessible mental health support.

Project Details:

To use the AI Mental Health Therapist Chatbot, users must register and log in. The chatbot acts as a real-time therapist for logged-in users. The chatbot analyzes user emotions and responds accordingly throughout the conversation. Personalization improves communication and support.

Sentiment analysis classifies user emotions as positive, negative, or neutral. The chatbot system suggests mental health-related videos based on user sentiment. These videos use the user’s emotional context to provide targeted support and guidance for mental health issues.

Project implementation involves various parts. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript create an interactive front end. Python and Flask provide chatbot functionality in the back end. MySQL stores user data and relevant data. The Rasa library also interprets user intent and responds appropriately.

Conclusion:

The AI Mental Health Therapist Chatbot project could address the global mental health worker shortage and improve access to mental health interventions. Chatbot technology and sentiment analysis provide personalized emotional support and video recommendations. This project shows how technology can fill the mental health care gap and provide affordable, accessible help.
