Abstract:
Biometrics helps identify people in technology. Biometrics cannot be lost, stolen, or hacked. Biometrics can improve access control, fraud, and theft, so more organizations are considering them for security.
Personal biometrics cannot be stolen and do not require passwords or codes, making them a better security option than passwords.
Our android-based Biometric Student Attendance System provides security, access control, reliability, efficiency, and better performance. The device will track every student’s daily attendance. This project uses XML, Android-Java, and SQL Server. Android Studio is used. Due to their vulnerability, passwords and pins are less secure than biometrics. Managing lecture attendance is difficult.
Students write their names, index numbers, and signatures on a sheet of paper and use a pen to take attendance. This method is unreliable because students can write the names of absent friends. Manually calculating attendance percentage is time-consuming and error-prone. Biometrics-based attendance management is created for these reasons. Using a fingerprint device, this system records attendance in a database. Student identification marks attendance.
