Project Ideas

Abstract:

Online social networks exchange vital information, making privacy crucial. Such applications require security. Thus, this application uses encryption (AES-Advanced Encryption Standard) to prevent data from being read over the network and privacy settings to control who can access what. The system encrypts the password using AES and stores it in the database during registration. The system decrypts the user ID’s password using AES when the user logs in and allows access to the application if the password matches. The system also lets you choose who can see what parts of your profile.

Modules :

  • Privacy Setting- This feature allows users to choose which parts of their profile are visible to which friends (close friends, acquaintances, restricted list).
  • Add Friend—The user can restrict access by adding friends to a group.
  • This system lets users view pending friend requests.
  • View Friend List: View Close friends, Acquaintances, and Restricted lists.
  • Users can edit their profiles too.
  • View & Edit Status—Users can view and edit their statuses.
  • For security, users can change their passwords.
  • Posts and comments—Users can post on the wall and view and comment on their friends’ posts depending on privacy settings. That group can comment on posts.
