Abstract:
Many shoulder surfing-resistant graphical password schemes have been suggested. Text-based graphical password schemes are suggested because most users are more familiar with textual passwords.
Unfortunately, no text-based shoulder surfing-resistant graphical password scheme is secure and efficient. This paper proposes a color-based text-based shoulder surfing-resistant graphical password scheme.
The proposed scheme allows users to login quickly. Next, we evaluate the scheme’s security, usability, and resistance to shoulder surfing and accidental login. The adversary can perform the shoulder surfing attack by watching the user enter his password over his shoulder.
Sobrado and Birget proposed three shoulder-surfing-resistant graphical password schemes. Since then, many graphical password schemes with different shoulder surfing resistance have been proposed, each with pros and cons. The proposed alphabet has 16 characters: 8 lowercase alphabets from a to h and 8 numerical from 1-8.
