Abstract:
One of the most active sharing economy sectors is bike sharing, which is different from ride sharing. This business model, enabled by mobile Internet and cloud computing platforms, seeks vehicle supplies at matching times and rental locations.
Success has drawn more competitors, creating supply redundancies that reduce social efficiency. We use electric car sharing to propose a business solution to this problem. We propose a joint venture to share electric cars for competitors.
The joint venture reduces infrastructure costs while these competitors offer their customers differentiated services through their electric mobile Apps.
We analyze the leader (joint venture) and its followers (car sharing operators)’ optimal pricing and sharing scheme as a two-stage Stackelberg game. Our model splits electric vehicle sharing between customers and operators to lower time and space costs.
