Abstract:
Decentralization is necessary when trust and performance cannot depend on one organization. DLTs and DHTs are useful for transactional events and large-scale data storage, respectively. These two technologies can solve many problems. Cryptographic signatures in data blocks preserve the blockchain’s history. Identifying is crucial. Decentralized self-sovereign identities (SSIs) use DHT to let users control and manage their identities. Due to many connections and requests, decentralized identification systems are slow. This article discusses DLT and DHT decentralized identification, where users can control their data and store biometrics. We compare execution time and throughput of decentralized identification technologies to address performance issues. DHT and machine learning model (BioIPFS) outperform uPort, ShoCard, and BBID.
