Python Blockchain Projects

Abstract:

In a world of BYOD and remote working, defending the network perimeter is no longer enough. Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) is a new security model that prioritizes breach mindset over threat model. The ZTA initially distrusts any endpoint (device, user, or application). Attackers can still take over an authenticated and authorized session using Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) once the endpoint proves it. Thus, they can perform several user/device-centric malicious activities and lateral movement, making the endpoint ZTA’s Achilles heel. A Blockchain-enabled Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (BIDPS) that augments ZTA on endpoints deters APT attack capabilities. The BIDPS aims to detect and prevent MITRE’s ATT&CK enterprise matrix attacks before the lateral movement stage and remove trust from the endpoint and place it on-chain to create an immutable system of explicit trust. The BIDPS was tested using over ten APTs attacks on the endpoint. Due to Blockchain immutability, BIDPS can successfully defend against attacks.
