Abstract:
Road accidents take many lives worldwide. VANETs are the ultimate solution to this problem. VANET vehicular nodes must communicate efficiently due to their high mobility and varied network topology. Clustering improves VANET communication.
Thus, a Moth-Flame Optimization (MFO)-based clustering algorithm, AMONET, is proposed for VANETs with high mobility nodes. Bio-inspired AMONET optimizes clusters for reliable and efficient communication.
Our algorithm is tested with ACO, CLPSO, and MOPSO. Several experiments compare these procedures’ efficiency.
AMONET averages 27.1%, ACO 36.3%, CLPSO 54.9%, and MOPSO 58.7%. AMONET produces near-ideal results, covers the network, and generates the fewest clusters. It efficiently clusters vehicles to improve network performance and lower routing costs.
