Abstract:
Student-centered learning and online student spaces are gaining popularity in schools. Since effective learning involves access to social and academic networks for study material and emotional support, online communities can provide a comprehensive knowledge creation, support mechanism, and recognize that affective activity is effective.
Depending on student need, courses or programs can have social forums, termed ‘Virtual Cafes’ or ‘Common Rooms’ These venues allow students to debate endless topics, including social and educational activities.
They support students and work best in large first- and second-year courses where they wouldn’t otherwise share information outside their tutorial group. The system will be accessible to admin, instructor, student, and alumni.
Admin approves student, instructor, and alumni posts. Admins can view all threads and favorite posts to rank them at the top of discussion forums. Teachers, students, and alumni must register with basic information and generate a login ID and password.
All entities must login with appropriate credentials to access the system. Teachers, students, and alumni can create a thread/post to talk among themselves and like/comment/reply.
