Abstract:
This project makes blind life easier. This camera-based system scans the barcode behind the image and reads the product description using the barcode Id. This helps blind people decide whether to buy packaged goods by describing them.
Because blind people find it hard to distinguish packaged goods. The user simply takes a picture of the product with their phone, which resolves the barcode and finds the Id stored. This app helps blind and visually impaired people identify products.
It only requires a scanner and a camera phone to scan and photograph the barcode. Most modern mobile phones can scan barcodes and read product descriptions. Any shopping mall, supermarket, book store, medical store, etc. can implement this project.
