Abstract:
Single image dehazing is ill-posed, making it difficult. Haze removal efforts are numerous for this reason. This paper proposes a simple, fast, and powerful haze removal algorithm.
The medium transmission only depends on scene radiance saturation, which is estimated using a simple stretching method.
Because this method does not assume transmission is constant in a small patch, each pixel can estimate a different medium transmission.
This paper also uses white balance to remove color veil from images with fine or yellow dust. The algorithm needs no training, prior, or refinement.
The simulations show that the proposed dehazing scheme outperforms current methods in computational complexity and efficiency.
