Abstract:
Wireless technologies and better global mobile devices enable real-time health monitoring. Mobile health (m-health) promises to deliver health services anytime, anywhere, improving user convenience and enabling faster diagnoses without travel to healthcare facilities. Using m-health apps on mobile devices with cloud computing has many benefits, but it also presents many challenges, especially in data storage and privacy. Blockchain technology is rapidly growing in finance, voting, and production chain research. This technology offers immutability, non-repudiation, transparency, and fewer intermediaries. Thus, this paper proposes a novel blockchain-based m-health system. This proposal integrates other health systems and applications quickly and securely, allowing patients to access their electronic health records. The system tracks data, but anonymity is maintained. Thus, a Hyperledger Fabric-based blockchain prototype was created. This implementation creates a chronological, immutable health data record. The proposed system uses two database components to create an anonymous storage system by tracing data through blockchain IDs. Performance and Hyperledger Fabric network configurations were assessed for the proposed system.
