Abstract:
Nearly 1% of people need wheelchairs. However, most emerging and underdeveloped countries lack wheelchair accessibility.
Accessible restrooms are hard to discover in new places for wheelchair users. Traveling to unfamiliar places becomes scary and unsettling. Medical help can also be difficult to find.
This user-friendly Wheelchair Guidance & Assistance System helps impaired people discover the nearest:
- Wheelchair-friendly Restrooms
- Wheelchair and medical equipment suppliers
- Wheelchair repair shops
- NGOs and hospitals
- Police Stations
The Wheelchair Guidance & Assistance System locates vital services. User must first grant location permissions. After approval, the app collects the user’s location coordinates and location-based data. Even location can be changed. After that, Wheelchair, Toilet, Police, Hospital, etc. data will appear. All these places have Google Map markers with their names and categories.
The program will redirect to location details activity if the user clicks on the info window, which displays business status, address, working hours, etc. Google Maps users can navigate to the location with current coordinates and purpose.
