Abstract:
Reversible color-to-grayscale conversion (RCGC) embeds chromatic information into a grayscale image so it can be reconstructed later. It must authenticate an information-embedded image to ensure its integrity.
No RCGC algorithm considers this factor. This paper proposes an information-embedding framework based on our vector quantization-based (VQ-based) RCGC algorithm to address this issue. We propose an RCGC algorithm that embeds both chromatic information and a fragile watermark into a grayscale image using the same method to reduce complexity and increase efficiency.
The palette determines the performance of the proposed VQ-based RCGC algorithm, as with others. This paper proposes a palette generation algorithm to support information embedding and improve the visual quality of color-embedded grayscale images and reconstructed color images.
