Abstract:

VANET research is difficult but active. It offers ITS, road traffic monitoring, traffic flow, and road safety applications. Fixed silent segments make emergency data collection difficult. This issue may delay critical ITS operations.

This project proposes a Real-Time Traffic-Aware Data Gathering Protocol (TDG) using dynamic segmentation switching to overcome communication constraints. TDG collects and forwards data packets based on traffic conditions.

Real-time data collection requires reducing network and data communication overhead. TDG uses data aggregation to analyze location, speed, vehicle id, and neighbor count. A base station data extraction scheme intelligently improves data retrieval and utilization.

Our solution outperforms existing data gathering protocols in effectiveness, efficiency, delay, communication overhead, and data transmission rate, according to extensive simulation and evaluation results.
