Abstract:
Indoor localization allows retailers, warehouses, and libraries to sense and understand human behavior and provide personalized services.
Existing indoor localization technologies are unable to identify different people, have severe object occlusion when multiple people are present, or have privacy concerns.
In this project, we develop ShopSense, an RFID-based localization system that can accurately localize multiple people simultaneously and differentiate them even in environments with many obstacles, based on the widespread deployment of RFID tags in such scenarios.
ShopSense can locate the shopping cart at 20 cm and the customer at 25 cm, according to extensive experiments.
