Cloud Computing Projects

Abstract:

Multi-UAV systems can monitor environmental and disaster conditions, patrol borders, and rescue people. Edge computing scenarios will favor multi-UAV applications. Multi-UAV systems must be energy efficient due to UAVs’ limited energy supplies and growing sensor counts.

Edge-cloud computing can help save energy, we think. RESERVE is an energy-efficient edge cloud architecture for intelligent multi-UAVs. Decentralized RESERVE researches energy-efficient computation offloading decision-making.

A three-layer game presents the discretionary Nash Equilibrium approach. We design two decentralized algorithms for the proposed game. Both algorithms reach Nash Equilibrium. We propose a decentralized computation offloading mechanism and analyze game performance by efficiency ratio. We simulate and prototype a framework.

The proposed game methods reduce energy consumption by over 30% compared to the state-of-the-art decentralized algorithm and lose less than 10% performance compared to the centralized solution. Our prototype framework proves our idea.
