Python Blockchain Projects

Abstract:

Wireless communication and mobile devices in healthcare have grown in popularity. Despite improved electronic health record security, data breaches still threaten patient privacy. Thus, implementing an access control system is difficult if users with different privileges can access patient medical data. Blockchain can solve decentralized access control issues. However, this technology faces scalability, security, and privacy issues. We propose a blockchain-based Decentralized Self-Management of Data Access Control (DSMAC) system for privacy-preserving medical data that empowers patients to maintain control over their personal data and self-grant access rights. DSMAC uses smart contracts for role-based access control and decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials for emergency access control. Finally, by evaluating performance and comparing analyses with other schemes, DSMAC can meet medical system privacy, scalability, and sustainability requirements and offer a new emergency approach.
