Abstract:
Digital data helps companies predict threats, opportunities, and trends. Digital data owners do not know how their data is accessed, shared, and monitized. This paper proposes using blockchain and NFTs to enable time-bound access and monitization of private data. Our method lets users mint encrypted content into NFTs. Other users can purchase or license NFT content. Buying content gives the buyer ownership of the NFTs, while licensing them allows access to private data for a limited time before it is deleted. Our approach uses DApp, proxy reencryption (PRE), IPFS, and TEE to manage a fully decentralized and robust system. We test and check vulnerabilities with an Ethereum-based proof-of-concept system. We analyze cost, security, and generalization. Open-source smart contracts and testing scripts.
